Perry, I’m in total agreement with you. I too have been pummeled by emails after giving to several email campaigns.

Well, at least the emails will stop now. Hopefully. Until the next round.

I agree totally. I've had that experience so I did what your husband recommends and stopped giving. But knowing that I would be bombarded I still have to the Harris Campaign. It's a sad commentary on where our politics have landed. I too can't wait for it to be over and I PRAY that Kamala and Walz win.

I am so frustrated by this. It had been impossible to stop the onslaught of DAILY texts asking for a donation.

There is no one place to go to stop the madness!

I feel it, Perry. Even though I KNEW going in that it would happen. It does no good to unsubscribe since the barrage is coming from a dozen different entities now. So I do triage, swiping left repeatedly without opening. Now, on nights I can't sleep, I listen to old favorite audiobooks and lately have gone through the "Hunger Games" trilogy. Two days ago I opened an email just to check it out, and at the bottom was "May the odds be ever in your favor. Love, Kamala." That's it, I'm officially freaked out!

I'm awake every night between, say, 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Restless sleep more like it. The time reserved for dark thoughts. This morning's was how do I get rid of all the political emails asking for money. I gave a few times, and they won't let me alone. I delete them all. This morning, seven more from Harris/Walz. And to your point, they start out, "Final deadline." It's been the final deadline for days. I'm sure the candidates (all of them) are bascially unaware of how abusive the email fund raising effort has become. They have teams of, probably, young email jockies (or AI?) whose job is to pound away. The story will break into the headlines, eventually. In the meantime, I suggest not hitting the unsubscribe button. That tells the robots there is an active listener at the other end. They are back at you with new telephone numbers and email address in moments.

No good deed goes unpunished! Ha! No advice, no answer - but I read recently that if we can just stomach the barrage for another month it will end. I am not sure I believe that. This is from a Reddit user: " Over the last few weeks, I have been bombarded by text messages from WinRed, the donation advertisement service of the Republican Party in the United States. I have replied STOP to several messages, and received confirmation, but they just use a different number each time. I’m on the federal do not call list, and have tried using robot blockers and other apps, but I can’t get them to stop. Does anyone have any ideas or advice? I’m fucking fed up with them, and have never voted for, supported or given them my info." And maybe this is one of the only issues where both parties agree!

Totally agree, Perry. No matter when I give, I just get more and more requests. And some of the snarky ones actually berate me, with things like: We've asked you five times, so and so asked... and on and on. And yes, they lose credibility when every request sounds so desperate and sometimes they are truly misleading. And yet....money matters in getting out the vote, getting out the message, defending lies. Giving to no one is a choice but it's certainly not a solution. I hope everyone will do something: write postcards, donate to a candidate or cause, offer to volunteer, put a bumper sticker on your car or a sign on your lawn. And if that is unappealing, just cast your ballot and be part of the process!
